Observe the fact that there are NO rivets. See how it looks 100x better? That's right, you do. Have some MOAR
Taken from FT86club. . . what gave it away?

I may be weird, but this is too vulgar for me.

Needs more exposed fasteners :|

Me too, but the point was that you can make a widebody without rivets.

Needs less shiny. I can't see the details from the glare.

Agreed. Rivets are for racecars only. Those poser cars can just keep looking pretty while the big dogs go at it on the track. ;)

Oh gosh, now that the rivets are gone, I can concentrate on the fact that those half exposed tires look awkward.

Aaaand once they drive that thing, there will be no paint left from all the tire kickup...

Nah brah, its mad tight.

I don't think that their cars will ever see a track.

Pretty sure it just stands still 99.99% of the time.
![]() 01/17/2014 at 21:26 |

It is missing pieces of the car though! Probably due to lack of rivets

Good. Now, if you'll excuse me....
Pretty sure the Iso AC/3 gets the award for "most exposed rivets" on a race car.

I need the rivets. Theres something about them that just looks mechanical. Without them, the car just looks fat and unnatural.

On a race car, yes!!! On a road car, or more so a show car, no. It looks like they are trying to hard to make the car look like a race car, when it isn't.
![]() 01/17/2014 at 21:38 |

But how will it attract the attention of people?
![]() 01/17/2014 at 21:38 |

Or maybe because. . . I got nothing.

By being sexy.

Im partial to the Bushwacker cut outs, but they are so damn expensive.
I chopped up the fenders and haven't replaced them. But if I go back to Moab, Utah or other states that require full coverage of the tire I'll have to figure something out.
I like the fasteners because it reminds me of the 4wd hobby. Tires don't fit? Slap some plastic on it.

Depends on the vehicle.
![]() 01/17/2014 at 21:52 |

Well it is okay on race cars, but on a road car they are a no go.

Show cars are overrated and roadcars shouldn't have wide body panels anyway.
![]() 01/17/2014 at 22:24 |

I kind of like rivets....
![]() 01/17/2014 at 22:25 |

Definatly aren't poser cars, will go into detail in reply to the article itself though

I think the only thing a 993 GT2 ever sees is the track.

Everyone saying these aren't race cars, and that they wont see a track - think again. Here's a little on the owner of this car — "I recall the first time I shot his D1 JZX100 a few years ago. I couldn’t understand why he had shaved the engine bay, painted the car with a complex custom mixed flake color and finished it off to show car standards. This was a drift car, a car that would inevitably be hit or hit something! But he didn’t care. He’s a guy that does things well, or he doesn’t do them at all. So it’s not a great surprise that his FR-S project may well be the most perfect example of attention to detail." And yes, this car has only been sitting on stands, b/c its still being built - the engine is still to be wired as well as the new ECU.
Another body kitted car from the same body maker—
This also has no rivets. Never see a track? This car will be running in D1 next year, aka drifting professionally on tracks. Below is a rwd converted GTR from once again the same guy, only this one already ran in D1 last year.
Once again, no rivets. Just b/c they're beautifully made, doesn't mean they wont see action. Japan for you.

Hahahahahahahaha! The joke's on you! They won't be driving that car! Ever! At all!

indeed, they'll only be drifting it
